Royal Lochnagar
Royal Lochnagar Distillery Established 1823 Glen Feardan on the North bank of the River Dee.
The history of this distillery is one of disaster and rebirth after it was burnt down in 1826, It moved to a new distillery site near Mountain Lochnagar, this distillery was destroyed by fire in 1841, The new distillery built in 1845 on the South bank of the River Dee.
This distillery gains its Royal title from Queen Victoria who lived very near by the distillery.
It's said when Victoria was out walking she stumbled up on the distillery by mistake, she was cordially invited to pop in anytime which she did of course, in 1845 the new title of Royal Lochnagar was bestowed to the distillery.
