Craigellachie 13 Year Old / 46% / 70cl
Craigellachie is a stand-out distillery in the Speyside region which has gained immense popularity among single malt lovers in the past decade. Its rich, fruity spirit character has long been a key component of blends such as Dewar's, and it's now getting the recognition it deserves as a single malt with a range of aged expressions.
This 13 year old flagship bottling is made up of both ex-bourbon and sherry casks.
Nose: A wonderful balance of fruity and floral, Sweet apples and toffee mingle with some soft oak and spice notes, traces of toffee brittle and delicate honey.
Palate: Very sumptuous with flavours from the start of the palate with richer, waxy undertones of smoked pineapple, Grapes and brambles mix very well with a toasted oatmeal bread and honey, some rich slightly smoked flavours come in to play during the nicely rounded rich finish.
Bottled at 46% and non chill filtered, this is a must-try Speyside single malt that offers something a bit different. We love it!
