Glen Grant 1966 / G&M / 40% / 70cl
Glen Grant is the biggest selling single malt in Italy, home of some of the first great independent bottlers such as Samaroli and Moon Import. Founded in 1840, the distillery is one of Speyside’s most respected distillery and its spirit is especially suited to long ageing.
It’s not every day you find a dram form the 60’s that shines as brightly in the glass with tastes as any other dram on the market. This is a take your time to enjoy dram that we only have once in a lifetime.
Nose: A rounded creamy vanilla and freshly picked red sweet grapes start the nose off perfectly, clean sweet summer fruits and honey, some crispy green apples and delicate spices. French patisserie cream cakes with even more soft fruits keep the nose going into the palate.
Palate: The palate has a great start with some apples, orange and a tangy delicate spice. As this dram opens even more in the glass we come across a delicate creamy vanilla with some light sweet smoke that really binds this dram so well across the palate. Springtime floral tones, warm baked brioche and caramelised cashews with a touch of tropical fruits towards the most balanced finish you could ever want.
The finish lingers with so much flavour you wont forget this masterpiece single malt.
