Invergordon 33 Year Old / 1987 / Murray McDavid / 1st Fill Port and PX / 48.5% / 70cl
Time for an elegant vintage grain whisky from the team at invergordon bottled by Murray McDavid
Nose: A perfect nose of fruits and vanilla starts this dram off. Ripe rich fruits including redcurrant and strawberry, damson and raisins, hints of cherry and chocolate, Bakewell tarts and raspberry coolie, soft fudge and vanilla ice cream.
Palate: The palate is a taste journey on the smooth very rich and a little more enticing than even those nose suggested.
Mouth coating creamy vanilla and delicate spices, blackcurrant jam and clotted Cornish cream, toasted fruit tea cakes with dried apricots and orange peel zest, lemon meringue pie and soft runny toffee sauce lead to some dark autumnal fruits that keep this palate flowing right to the rich creamy finish.
