Ledaig 10 Year Old / 46.3% / 70cl
Ledaig (pronouced le-chug) is the peated expression from the Tobermory distillery. The name was dropped from the distillery due to a combination of pronunciation problems and its similarity to a very rude word in local gaelic. The rich malty Tobermory spirit is accentuated with the hazy smokiness. This is certainly an expression for fans of Islay whisky who wish to venture further up the west coast of Scotland but still have that richly peated spirit.
Think coastal salinity and oiliness with a toffee sweetness underpinning the experience.
If you like your peaty whiskies, Ledaig is a must. Rich, oily, earthy and peaty, it’s the ultimate maritime malt for those who appreciate a Scotch with true unbridled character.
