Glen Ord 2012 / Bourbon Barrel / Carn Mor / 47.5% / 70cl
Ord distillery lies just to the west of Inverness, then over to a small area known as the Muir of Ord on the A832.
The distillery is one of the highlands most famous because of the consistent quality of the distillate and of course the many variations that have hit the market over the years, from Glen Ord to Singleton of Ord to the simple Ord name you will experience a single malt that tastes good
This Single Cask Ord is one of the most interesting on the market
Nose: An abundance of bakery notes on the nose, rest hot cross buns, coco beans with crushed almonds and raisins, a little hint of warming sweet spice aromas with orchard fruits.
Palate: A continuation from the nose on the palate as this dram opens with ease in the glass, some sweet floral tastes unfold across the palate with honey and fresh baked shortbread, some creamy flavours arrive in the mid palate, hints of malted candy and chocolates, soft ripe orchard fruits and just a hint of summer coastal flavours add a level of taste that draws you in.
