Talisker 18 Year Old / 45.8% / 70cl
Until recently the only distillery on the rocky and remote Isle of Skye, Talisker is a heavily protected brand and rarely seen as an independent bottling. The official releases, except for the 57 Degrees North, are all bottled at the distillery’s unique 45.8%. Founded in 1830, the whisky is peated to between 22 and 30 ppm and is distinguished by a characteristic pepperiness that’s recognisable in most bottlings. Featuring heavily in popular culture, Talisker was also the favourite malt of Robert Louis Stevenson.
One of the best value 18-Year-Old whiskies available, this is a remarkably mature and complex dram, winning Best Whisky in the World at the 2007 World Whisky Awards.
