Talisker 2007 / Distillers Edition / 45.8% / 70cl
Until recently the only distillery on the rocky and remote Isle of Skye, Talisker is a heavily protected brand and rarely seen as an independent bottling. The official releases, except for the 57 Degrees North, are all bottled at the distillery’s unique 45.8%. Founded in 1830, the whisky is peated to between 22 and 30 ppm and is distinguished by a characteristic pepperiness that’s recognisable in most bottlings. Featuring heavily in popular culture, Talisker was also the favourite malt of Robert Louis Stevenson.
This distiller’s edition was distilled in 2007 and aged in Amoroso Sherry casks, a rare blend of Oloroso and PX sherries similar to a cream sherry.
