Mannochmore 11 Year Old / SMOS Reserve Cask Parcel 5 / 48% / 70cl
Mannochmore was one of those distilleries whisky drinkers hardly knew about until they actually sat down and tried the dram themselves, now it's a must have for all whisky fans who want the most balanced collection possible.
Nose: Crisp citrus with fresh baked fruit loaf, some autumnal orchard fruits and bramble flow across the nose. Hints of dark soft fruit and all spice, fresh baked cakes and lemon drizzle.
The nose had a lot to work with, will the palate be able to face the challenge?
Palate: Amazingly rich fruity notes to the fore as we star this dram off to a flying start. Some delicate vanilla and honey with a dash of fresh ginger and soft baked fruit cake. The cask is really playing its part on the mid palate with sweet oak and soft baked apple and pear tarts.
The soft sweet spices that mingle across the palate take us to a nicely balanced lingering fruity finish
