Compass Box Delos The Extinct Blends Quartet 49%

A charming blended Scotch from renowned whisky creator Compass Boss. Delos takes inspiration from ‘vanished flavours’ – and this one recalls Asyla, the gorgeous 2001 release from the blender. Whisky maker James Saxon has worked his magic recreating the spirit of the expression, using American oak Glen Elgin, Imperial and Miltonduff malts, along with Cameronbridge grain. The result is ethereally beautiful.

Tasting note:

Nose: Elegantly fruity, with pineapple, orange oil and apple leaping from the glass, along with decadent vanilla ice cream.

Palate: Dessert-like, with white chocolate and fruit compote giving way to honey and tea-like spices.

Finish: Medium length but rich and soft.
