Craigellachie 14 Year Old Telford's Travels To Gascony 52.3% ABV

A fascinating Craigellachie independent bottling matured in an unusual cask type indeed. After being distilled in 2007, this single cask was matured in first-fill Pacherenc barrique. The French white wine style imparts a tropical fruit sweetness to the sulphury robustness inherent in Craigellachie whisky. The bottling is part of the Brave New Spirits team’s Cask Noir range of film-inspired labels.

Nose: Fabulously bold with ripe tropical fruit, liquorice, a cereal nuttiness and a surprise savoury, almost meaty note.

Palate: The complexity of the nose continues with the addition of dark chocolate, and a crisp dried hay quality.

Finish: Long, drying, with more topical fruits in with a toasted oak.
