Merlet Crème de Poire William 18% ABV

An incredibly aromatic liqueur here from French brand Merlet. Fruit is harvested from partner producers in the Loire before the pears are soaked in pure alcohol to extract as much flavour as possible. The infusion is then blended with pear eau-de-vie to enhance the intensity of flavour. At this point, sugar is added to make sure it meets the required levels to be called a ‘crème’. A delight on the rocks, with soda water, and even with wine or Champagne. 

Tasting note: Almost silver-like in colour, with meringue and spice notes in with the fresh, crisp pear. Honey brings richness to the mouthfeel, and a pleasing tartness lingers on the finish.
