Rabbit Hole Heigold 47.5% ABV

High-rye bourbons are always a treat – the added warmth and spiciness are delightful – and this one from Rabbit Hole doesn’t disappoint. It’s named after a German stonecutter from the 1800s who made a life for himself in the brand’s home city of Louisville. With a mashbill of 70% corn, 25% malted German rye and 5% malted barley, it’s a delightfully rich sipper.

Tasting note:

Nose: Warming and inviting, with sweet spices, toffee, and a subtle hint of something green and herbal.

Palate: Big and round in texture, there’s vanilla ice cream, toasted oak, baking spices and cracked black pepper.

Finish: More vanilla and then the spices get a little more drying.
