A Speyside Single Malt 26 Year Old Maltbarn 1995 51.9% Sherry Cask Matured
Nose: Light golden honeycomb, hints of caramel and maple syrup, red apples and soft sweet oak notes, with a moment or two in the glass a rich and smooth cocoa, grapes and ripe red currants.
Palate: Smooth and very rich on the palate, soft chewy caramel wafers, fruit cake and a very subtle hint of charred apple and pears, some soft syrup, fruit cocktail, vanilla and a sublime truffle and crisp toffee brittle candy. Lingering with some sweet spices and honey with a touch of soft ginger.
A superb tasting speyside single malt we all know too well.
